Estimado Gerhard: es grato volver a saludarlo y saludar tambien a su
padre Werner. Esta nota es para contarle que en días pasados los organeros
Fray Miguel Ijurco y Bernardo Ramírez realizaron un ajuste y afinación al
órgano WALCKER op.4017 en
la iglesia de La Merced en ciudad de Guatemala, centro américa. Su caja data
del finales del siglo XIX, dentro de ella, la firma Walcker instaló un nuevo
sistema mecanico, asi como tambien sus registros en el año de 1960. Esta
afinaciòn y ajuste se realizó por el concierto que ofrecerá Pierre
Pincemaille, organista titular de St. Denis, Francia, el día 18 de octubre.
Adjunto le envío varias fotos del instrumento, en ellas podemos apreciar su
bella fachada, a Bernardo en la afinación de la trompeta real, a Fray Ijurco
y Ramirez sentados en la consola, la cual por cierto se encuentra en la parte
de atras y dentro del organo, y un afiche alusivo al concierto que ofrecera el

Dear Gerhard, It is a pleasure to greet both you and your father Werner again. I’m writting to let you know that in the past few days the organ builders Fray Miguel Ijurco and Bernardo Ramírez adjusted and tuned the WALCKER op.4017 organ in the church of La Merced in the city of Guatemala, Central America. This case dates from the late XIX century; in 1960 the Walcker firm installed a new tracker system and new pipes. The reason for the tuning and adjustment is the upcoming concert by Pierre Pincemaille, titular organist of St. Denis, France, on October 18th. Attached are several photographs of the instrument. The stops of the organ are the following: flautado 8’ - flautado violon 8’ - Octava nazarda 4’ - Mixtura 3-4 fach - Contras 16’ - Contras 8’ - Octava 4’ - Octava clara 4’ - Cornet de ecos 5 fach - Dozena clara 2 2/3’ - Diez y novena 1 1/3’ - Expieta 2’ - Trompeta real 8’ - Clarines 4’ The organ only have a manual and pedal. In the photos appearing Bernardo tunning the trompeta real, the facade, manual, Bernardo and Fray Ijurco in the console. The console is located behind the facade.
